PLEASE make Composer aware of the current date, as it sometimes attempts to ‘fix’ dates that it considers the …future…

It also loves searching the internet - always appending ‘dec 2024’ to its request annoyingly.

We’ve highlighted this issue before:

When the models analyse logs for troubleshooting, they often consider recent dates as ‘future dates’ and an issue that needs to be resolved, presumably due to their training data cut-off date. If Cursor were aware of the current date/time, this would prevent a lot of wasted energy fighting the model to assure it of the current date. (I’ve had Claude hardcode the date I’ve given it to appease me, as it certainly did not believe me!) We have some workarounds using MCP servers (Simple MCP server …

You should just implement a simple time mcp server.

You have to remember to call it, so at that point you might as well just tell it to get the date from terminal.

It’s such a tiny token increase, each request should be timestamped.

Not sure if this is a joke, but it would be funny if this is what it took to make Cursor’s cutting-edge coding model to know the current date/time.

FWIW I find that Sonnet 4.5 also gets confused and thinks it’s still January 2025.
