MCP postgres was working in 0.46 and is broken after update to 0.47.8

Hi,

I was using cursor 0.46 last Friday with postgres MCP server (servers/src/postgres at main · modelcontextprotocol/servers · GitHub) and it was working like a charm.

Today, it was not working anymore and after an upgrade, the MCP server is not found when using Claude. I changed nothing between Friday and today, just upgrade.

When I ask cursor to query the database, he can’t manage to use the query mcp tool for postgres and try to execute sql query in console instead or do strange commande to run the mcp server in the console.

I was suppose to do a new demo session for 100+ developers today as I did with success last Friday and I can’t anymore so I will have to cancel it or show a video instead. You break the trust I had with the product today ans I will switch to Windsurf just now.

Downgraded to 0.46 and reconfiguring the MCP servers fixed the issue. Thank you for wasting 1 hour of my time.

Can confirm it’s broken. I’d prefer not to downgrade if possible. Are we to wait for an update for MCP to work again in next release?

In version 0.48, we improved the performance of MCP servers. You can try updating right now by enabling early access in the Cursor settings.
