I accidently hide my menu bar from the view option, how to get it back?
Hey @BasitAbbas,
If you accidentally hid the menu via the “View” option, you can restore it as follows:
- Press
Altto temporarily display the menu. - Go to “View” → “Appearance” → “Show Menu Bar”.
This should bring the menu back permanently. If this doesn’t work, let me know and I’ll help you find another solution.
It’s not showing the temporary menu bar after pressing “Alt”.

I don’t know if it’ll help you
Thanks but i’m already using this, i just need to get my menu bar back ![]()
Thanks it worked.
For me it was:
in the Settings:
window.titleBarStyle and I changed it to “custom”
You saved my day. That one worked for me on ubuntu
tnks
This was the only solution that worked! ![]()
Old time user of VisualCode and Codium;
Probably while I was using some keystroke
*(I noticed that few has been changed)
*
I lost the menu bar
while this
Helped me a little to bring back few icons
I still don’t have the whole menu.
is there a way to reset the appearance only ?
aka deleting a config file, and/or a part of it ?
PS: no; none of the solution in the video worked for me
MY SOLUTION (A LITTLE TIME LATER) …
I removed the settings.json files from my profile
$HOME/.config/Cursor/User/settings.json
and so it kept my history and everything else
with the menu bar ![]()
thanks
For me, I just right clicked on the season bar and it was there. Just toggle back on Menu Bar. Don’t right click the word “Search” That gives a different dropdown.
thanks
