Bug Description
When working with multiple chats in Cursor β even across separate windows β changing the selected model in one chat immediately updates the model in all other chats. This breaks the logical separation between conversations and limits flexibility when different chats require different model types.
Steps to Reproduce
- Open Cursor and start multiple chats (e.g., Chat A and Chat B).
- In each chat, work on a different task or context.
- Change the model (e.g., from GPT-3.5 to GPT-4) in Chat A.
- Observe that the model also changes in Chat B (and all other chats), even if they are in separate windows.

Operating System and Cursor Version
Windows 11\10, Cursor version 0.49.6
Impact on Usage
This issue significantly interferes with workflow, especially when using different chats for different tasks that benefit from different models. It doesnβt completely block use, but it reduces the usefulness of multi-chat functionality and forces repetitive switching.
