Our free tier has not changed, but this new pricing structure should prove to be more economical, will also be more flexible as the usage patterns people have.
if you want me to clarify anything specifically, let me know!

Just for comparison is it 1 per minute, 60 per hour quickly?
Provided a casual user waiting for thinking process to finish, reading through the answer, accepting some file changes, manually changing some code, and writing a new prompt, which for me can take a few minutes.
Or is burst usage limit mostly for power user YOLO vibe coders?
Burst usage applies to multiple requests in the space of a few minutes. Itās really meant to support the inconsistent usage developers often have when they work!
Many find they do a few requests quickly as they work to develop something, then they might switch apps to look into documentation or test their changes.
This isnāt really something we want users to have to think about, but more of just a feature of the system under the hose to ensure you donāt get rate limited when just using Cursor normally.
yesterday you say it will like life bar in game,
when and where I can see this indicator?
Sorry, that was just a metaphor. Iām not sure if the team plan to add any UI to show this in-app!
I havenāt tried it yet.. so maybe the rate limits are pretty restrictive. But as a engineer I think rate limits are a step in the right direction. ( especially when it comes to tool calls being less restrictive ). Will it be possible for enterprise to opt in? ( either all at once or allow for individuals to opt in ? ) I am pretty sure I want to lobby my company to opt in.
Team and Enterprise plans are remaining as they are for now, as that will be a more sensitive process!
If i have say 400/500 requests remaining and i use the remaining 100, and then switch to the new pro model, will i get same rate limits applied?
Also for new pro model does it mean there are no unlimited slow requests for premium models if i hit the rate limit?
Does the new update pricing model make the pro plan and ultra plan include the full context window of max mode or is max mode still usage base pricing to access full context window? And do new Pro and Ultra plan include rate limited access to models such as o3-pro or Claude 4 Opus without having to pay for additional usage based pricing? Does Ultra plan include background agents, bug bot without paying extra or does it simply increase rate limit to 20 times compare to new Pro plan?
I am curious.
Ok.. sad day.. thanks @danperks
Would it be possible to add like x requests remaining when we are about to get rate limited like claude does ?
This would allow me to switch to a more economical model in the meantime until that message goes away.
Also would be nice to know like a weight of each model so i know which model are more economical and like how much faster opus will drain the limit than sonnet and 2.5 pro
Hey, guys, could you please explain me one thing. I used to use my private pro subscription for hobby purposes, which means I used limit only by evenings and weekends in my particular case. Because of hard workload this month I decided to cancel my PRO. Nut now I absolutely puzzled whether Iām able to chose the old type of plan or I will be insistently offered with the new one? I try to figure out that moment as my way of consuming requests way far from what I usually do when Iām working.
Any idea when and how these changes will come to enterprise accounts?
I wouldnāt recommend opting out unless you are really hit the limits. My experimentation so far is that the rate limits are fairly generous compared to the 500 use limit. I suspect that the reason they donāt tell you the limit is because itās actually very high. Now maybe thatās just the intro and theyāll tighten up later but for now, itās generous.
Can try or have the option? Iām not sure so thatās the reason of my question. I canāt even see how many requests Iāve used at the moment. Many thanks, cursor team.
You know, my case is slightly out of this logics. Iām nod using limits during a day, but I need them hard in evenings or weekend, which means I might face with limit despite I donāt try to scam the system, thus in my mind Iād prefer to have my 500 requests with no bandwidth instead of having unlimited but rate limited ones.
As I said before, when you choose opt out ā You can roll back to old setting with 500 requests.
