No longer able to use cursor agent features when SSHing

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor CLI

Describe the Bug

When I SSH into a VM in a folder where git is enabled,

I get the message:

unable to activate extension “git” because it requires the extension “git base” to be enabled

unable to activate extension “github” because it requires the extension “git base” to be enabled

If I reload the window, those messages still appear. In this state, when I interact with the agent chat, it will permanently hang stating “waiting for extensions”

I need to be ssh’d quite a bit for my work.

Steps to Reproduce

SSH into a vm, go into a folder where git is enabled.

Needs to be on the latest version: 2.4.22

I downgraded to the previous version and it works perfectly

happy to hop on a call and show what happened

Expected Behavior

It should allow me to interact with cursor agent normally

Operating System

MacOS

Can you share your logs from the “Main”, “Window”, “Extension Host”, and “Extension Host (Remote)” output panels?

yes, I need to redownload the messed up version first though

After restarting my computer, deleting cursor, and installing 24.2.0 again it was fixed
