Opus 4.1 Works in Web Agent but not on Cursor app

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Background Agent (GitHub, Slack, Web, Linear)

Describe the Bug

Opus 4.1 is allowed on web agent but not in Cursor mac app and asks for extra usage spend. This is with the ultra plan.

Steps to Reproduce

I’m on the Ultra plan and when I try to use Opus 4.1 in the Cursor app on mac, it says I’ve hit my limits and have to continue paying for extra usage. But when I go to the web agent, it allows me to use Opus 4.1 no problem and shows as included in plan on the usage dashboard. Has anyone else experienced this or found a fix?

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the report!

While we continue to work on and develop Background Agents, there are some additional limits afforded as part of their usage.
We have chosen not to advertise this usage to avoid abuse, and also as this usage may be removed at any time, automatically falling back to usage-based pricing.

This will be why the model is available to you, but please do not rely on this as a given moving forward.
