Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Hey, interesting. On macOS, image paste in the CLI works for me. Let’s figure out what’s actually happening.

I need a bit more info:

  • What happens when you try to paste an image? Do you get an error, does nothing happen, or something else?
  • Where are you copying the image from (a screenshot with Cmd + Shift + 4, a browser, Finder)?
  • Can you share a screenshot of what you see in the CLI when you try to paste?

One more thing. In a similar thread, a user got the error “There is not an image in the clipboard” when they tried to paste text. Do you see anything like that?

  • When I paste an image, nothing happens. I remember that the Cursor CLI used to show “Image Pasted”, but now it doesn’t show anything. I can still paste into OpenCode, so I’m sure the image is already in the clipboard.
  • I tried copying a screenshot using Cmd + Shift + 5 and also using “Copy as image” in Figma, but neither method works.

Is Cmd + V still the shortcut for pasting images?

Yes, Cmd+V is the right shortcut for pasting images into the CLI.

You’re on version 2026.01.28-fd13201. Try updating to the latest version, the issue might already be fixed there.

The team is aware of problems with image pasting in the CLI and is working on improving it. Let me know if updating helped or not.

I can’t update to the latest version right now, so I’ve temporarily switched to IDE while waiting for a fixed version.
Please notify the team — breaking such a basic feature is unacceptable.
