Poor mermaid rendering in plans

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

Mermaid rendering on plans is worse / very bad compared to when rendered in a standard markdown file.

Steps to Reproduce

Create a plan that includes mermaid. It renders it poorly. Copy the plan’s content to a temporary file and use the built-in “render to the side” option, and confirm the diagram is much better. Using the plugin “Markdown Preview Mermaid Support”

Expected Behavior

mermaid should render “correctly”. Check the screenshot.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the detailed report and the comparison screenshot.

Cursor uses its own built-in Mermaid renderer in Plans, which works separately from plugins. I’ll pass your feedback to the team that the rendering quality is worse than the Markdown Preview Mermaid Support plugin.

The team is already working on improving rendering in Plan Mode.
