Problems installing extensions with remote-ssh

I am having issues install extensions when using the remote-ssh extension. For example I can install the ruff extension locally but when I do it remotely I get:
Can't install 'charliermarsh.ruff' extension because it is not compatible with the current version of Cursor (version 0.47.8, VSCode version 1.96.2).
