Additional Information

I need to know the messaging protocol that cursor is expecting for the MCP server connection. A file protocol would be helpful, but even just the ending for status to be green would be great

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

bump. Anyone from cursor team have the messaging protocol? I am struggling to get my mcp’s tools to list with cursor having the green status icon for the server.

Hi @Peyton_Tolbert and welcome to Cursor Forum.

Thank you for the bug report.

Could you check the Cursor bottom pane Output tab, there is the option for MCP Logs

Please report the errors in the log there.

Overall MCP is defined by Anthropic though each MCP is created by 3rd party developers, so it would be best to contact the MCP dev as they would have experience with other users configuring their MCP for Cursor.
