Question about Cursor Pro billing - $20 vs $40 usage limit?

Hi everyone,

I’m a bit confused about the Cursor Pro billing and hoping someone can clarify.

My understanding:

  • The Pro plan includes $20 of API usage

  • I’ve been using Sonnet 4.5 Thinking and it burns through the $20 really fast

What I’ve heard:

  • Some users mentioned they can actually use up to around $40 before hitting the limit

  • Is this extra $20 the “bonus usage credit” mentioned in the pricing page?

My situation: I’m a recent graduate and have been a Cursor user for a while. I actually preferred the old 500-request billing model. Does anyone know if there’s a way to switch back to that plan, or is it completely phased out?

Would appreciate any insights from the team or other users who’ve dealt with this!

hi, yes Pro subscription includes around ~20$ bonus (sometimes lower than that)

That additional bonus is of $40 not $60 for the pro+ plan.

yes. it is not exactly defined how much bonus in docs, but rather it is said just additional bonus

I just went ahead and got the $60 plan and it works wonders. I use it everyday for complex builds
