Feature request for product/service
Cursor IDE
Describe the request
roblem
Cursor does not provide the same Activity Bar experience as VS Code: the persistent vertical icon column on the left edge used to switch between Explorer, Search, Source Control, Extensions, and other contributed views.
Many users rely on this bar for daily navigation. Its absence (or relocation behind other UI) forces extra clicks, Command Palette usage, or hunting in menus — slower than VS Code for the same tasks.
Expected behavior (VS Code reference)
A vertical Activity Bar docked on the left of the workbench.
Icons for at minimum: Explorer, Search, Source Control, Extensions (and optional Testing, Remote, etc. from extensions).
Clicking an icon opens/focuses the corresponding Side Bar view; active icon is highlighted.
Bar remains visible while working (not hidden behind AI-first layout only).
Behavior matches VS Code Activity Bar documentation.
Operating System (if it applies)
Windows 10/11
