Same set of tabs keep opening on cursor restart

I am opening cursor using SSH to a remote machine (linux). The Cursor client is MacOS 15.6. After making the SSH connection, cursor keeps opening the same tabs. Even, when they are closed, and Cursor restarts, they are re-opened. This issue happened only with a set of specific files, others behave as expected. When the files are renamed, the tabs are not opened again on Cursor relaunch, but when the files are put back, the tabs open again automatically.

It seems that these files are lingering somewhere. What I tried so far to resolve it (on the remote machine)

``

rm -rf /home/jeroen/.cursor-server/data/User/workspaceStorage

rm -f /home/jeroen/.cursor-server/data/User/globalStorage/state.vscdb
rm -f /home/jeroen/.cursor-server/data/User/globalStorage/state.vscdb-wal
rm -f /home/jeroen/.cursor-server/data/User/globalStorage/state.vscdb-shm

``

Where is this issue likely originated and how can we resolve it? Is the only way deleting the ~/.cursor-server folder?

Thanks so much in advance. I would like to undestand this issue a bit better.
