Scheduled automation runs on wrong weekday (trigger says Monday 8:00 GMT+1, run on Tuesday)

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Somewhere else…

Describe the Bug

I have a Cursor Automation (“[energy-services] GitHub alerts → PR”) with a single weekly scheduled trigger: “Every week on Monday at 08:00 GMT+1” on repo energy-site-info / main.

In Run History, some runs are labeled “Scheduled - Every Mon at 8AM GMT+1” but the “Triggered” timestamp falls on a different weekday (e.g. Tuesday 19 Mar at 09:01 and 13:02), not Monday 08:00.

The trigger in Settings correctly shows Monday — so the mismatch is only in the title, but the wrong calendar day for scheduled runs is the real problem.

I had previously changed the schedule (Thu → Fri → Mon) and removed extra triggers; I expected only one weekly run on the configured weekday and time.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create or edit an Automation with trigger: weekly, Monday, 08:00, timezone GMT+1, repo energy-site-info on main.
  2. Save and wait for scheduled runs (or observe Run History over several weeks).
  3. Compare “Trigger” column (e.g. “Scheduled - Every Mon at 8AM GMT+1”) with the actual “Triggered” date/time and weekday in Run History.
  4. Note any run where the weekday is not Monday or the time is not ~08:00 GMT+1 without a manual “Test run”.

Expected Behavior

A weekly “Monday 08:00 GMT+1” trigger should only start runs on Mondays at that local time (allowing small clock skew, e.g. a few minutes), and Run History should reflect the correct weekday. Changing the schedule should not leave hidden duplicate schedules firing on other days.

Additional context

  • Product: Cursor Automations (web): https://cursor.com/automations/45cee4c0-9026-4aea-8e57-e2c77d80e8f6
  • Trigger (current): Weekly, Monday 08:00 GMT+1; repo energy-site-info, branch main.
  • Observed: Run History showed trigger label “Scheduled - Every Mon at 8AM GMT+1” with runs on Tuesday 19 Mar ~09:01 and ~13:02 (wrong weekday vs label).
  • Prior config: Schedule was changed Thu → Fri → Mon; extra triggers were removed. Unclear if old schedules could still fire or if label/run mismatch is a display vs scheduler bug.
  • Impact: Unwanted automation run → unwanted security PR on GitHub (org 1K5-TECH, repo energy-site-info).

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey @Marco_Peise!

Thanks for flagging this. I believe we deployed a fix for this on Tuesday – could you try editing your automation to update the schedule, then set it to your desired end state? That should kick things into place.

Hi Colin, thanks for the quick answer. I have updated the end-date eiher on Tuesday or Yesterday. But I can do it again. Let’s see if it triggers tomorrow too (was set last week to Friday)

Will update here.
