Bug Report: Pro User Incorrectly Shown Server Overload Banner

Description: Pro user with usage-based payment enabled receives “Our servers are currently overloaded for non-pro users, and you’ve used your free quota” banner despite active subscription.

Expected vs Actual: Pro users should have uninterrupted access, but are being treated as free users hitting quota limits.

System Info:

  • macOS Sequoia 15.5 (24F74)
  • Cursor Version 1.0
  • Subscription: Pro with usage-based payment enabled

Impact: Prevents paid users from accessing services, causing work disruption.

Possible Root Cause: User authentication/subscription verification system incorrectly categorizing Pro users as free users.

Hey, thank you for the report, appreciate the detailed post. The Cursor team mentioned there was a temporary issue around the time you had the error. They are still monitoring and it should be solved soon.
