I’ve just discovered https://smithery.ai
It has a cursor section and solves the “How do you pass ENV values to the MCP Server issue”
I was able to get Github MCP server working for the first time with this.

Smithery has a lot of potential and it’s great they’ve added Cursor instructions, but I’ve found it pretty hit or miss so I normal install manually (at least with Claude.)
It’s definitely worth trying when args/env are needed, otherwise it’s just adding an unnecessary layer to npx/uvx.
it hasn’t even full detailed what to do after you put a personal token access, like what should I do about that npx command and if I put that directly on mcp cursor client it’s not working, so frustrating
