Currently https://cursor.com/agents requires connecting to repo and storage but when we connect to remote MCP server/connector we will like to simply prompt only with no need for any repo or storage.
We already can do this via cursor IDE/CLI and we can prompt MCP server/connector by prompting only, so we need this also on cursor web on https://cursor.com/agents
We appreciate that cursor is one of the few companies to allow API key host headers in auth to MCP server as claude and chatgpt refused to support API key host headers and enforcing the stone age OAuth that is meant for human authentication but forced for app to app communication which is why the whole crap is so convoluted to setup. OAuth rant over now.
So we appreciate that cursor took the sensible approach and support both oauth for those that still want to use it and also API keys via host headers.
Only thing now is please allow us to prompt and chat only with the MCP connectors also. This is what is left for cursor to continue to lead the charge.
