The requests with model provider errors are still included in usage

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

There have been many times when a request generated no content at all and just showed a “model provider error.” However, I noticed that those requests were still counted toward usage. That doesn’t make sense.

Steps to Reproduce

Just check the usage when you trigger “model provider error”

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Sometimes - I can sometimes use Cursor

Hey, thanks for the report. This is a known issue. Requests that fail with a provider error can show up in usage at first. Usually, the system fixes it on its own after a while and marks them as “Errored, no Charge”. Check the dashboard a bit later, they may already roll back.

If the requests are still counted, email [email protected] and the team can review it and correct the usage on your account.
