The submodules directory has been added to the cursorignore without my knowledge and consent

Describe the Bug

The submodules directory has been added to the cursorignore without my knowledge and consent.

In the last two versions of cursor I am having problems attaching files from the tree (in the left pane) to the cursor chat, which forces me to copy the file pair and paste it into the chat.

The ‘Add context’ option in the chat itself doesn’t seem to work either.

Also the agent seems to have problems locating the files and editing them.

After some time I noticed that the AI features were disabled for the files that were giving me problems and I saw that the submodules directory had been added to the cursorignore file.

Steps to Reproduce

To reproduce it:

Right click on a file from the tree in the left pane, choose add to cursor char, it doesn’t get added.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, could you let me know which directories were excluded?
