Thank you for the idea. I have enabled it, and now it looks good. I think this is something related to how the IDE uses the GPU under Windows 10/11.
Does it work for you @saidattax @Kcko ?
Yes, that did the trick. But I’m not so sure if this is the right way. Why should I set an experimental feature to get the colors?
Some progress on figuring this on another thread
Describe the Bug
VSCode uses full RGB subpixel antialiasing and has for some time.
However, Cursor is using Greyscale antialiasing.
This causes text to look blurry or fuzzy on sub-4K monitors in Cursor while looking much more sharp in VSCode.
Steps to Reproduce
Open any text in Cursor and VSCode and compare it side by side in Windows.
(Note that MacOS and Unix have different rendering engines so this may look different there, but I’m not sure.)
In the attached image, VSCode is on the left a…

Hi mate,
Yes, it helped, maybe too much, the font is bolder than it should be, but it is very contrasting.
However, I am concerned about the “bugs” that may occur when this setting is enabled.
But I still see it as a ■■■■■■ workaround and the inability of the people at Cursor to solve it.
Above all, no one communicates, only the paying community, and that is sad.

Yeah, after using it for minutes, I noticed completion suggestions had the same color and looked the same as actual code.
This is effecting me on Windows 11.
Wanted to mention that I notice that this issue doesn’t happen at all if I right-click any tab and ‘Copy in to new window’.
Bumping this to the top so the experts look into it!

@saidattax could you confirm this is the same on 1.5.7 as well?

Not @saidattax but I have tested many different versions to attempt to workaround this issue temporarily. I can confirm that it started in version 1.0.0 and later. The 0.X versions don’t have this issue.
At this rate we’ll get GTA6 before this issue is fixed

Could someone confirm this on latest Cursor version 1.5.7-1.5.11 and share a screenshot?
Issue still exists
left side is the main editor, right side is a window

I haven’t used VScode for 6 months on Windows, but the last few days using it I notice, despite having the same theme, that something was off, like it had better colors and sharper text.
I’m glad I’ve found this thread because it’s definitely a thing on Windows, underwhelming though seeing it’s still going on since June.
Any updates on this? @condor
I just installed cursor on a new machine and I still get the same issue.
