This is so annoying please fix it. why new chat is created when i open cursor ? i never made them.

Does this stop you from using Cursor?

  • Yes - Cursor is unusable
  • Sometimes - I can sometimes use Cursor
  • No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the report. This is a known bug. A new chat/New Agent shows up in the sidebar by itself when you open Cursor. The issue is already being tracked, but there’s no ETA for a fix yet. The same symptom is discussed here: Stop open "New Agent" sidebar everytime open a new Cursor Window

To link your case to the right place, can you share a couple details?

  1. Does it happen on a fully fresh launch of Cursor, or after Reload Window or opening a new project in an already running window?
  2. Your Cursor version Menu > About Cursor > Copy and your OS.

From your screenshots, it looks like older threads like “Implementation issue…” pop up under Today/Yesterday along with an empty New Chat. That helps narrow down which variant of the bug you’re hitting. Let me know and I’ll add the info to the tracking.
