Tip: Within a Composer, request synopsis of thread/topics/discussions/reasearch

I use a project ‘ScratchPad’ which is cursor/scratchpad and this is where I ask it all my randoms, and pursue little cmdlettes ad such.

Recommend keeping a scartchpad, and within any project composer, request that it exaplin itself.

And remember to ask your bot “WTF were you thinking?”:

And then, Ask it to propose an updated workspace file as you have given it more context in how you want it to behave, based on your interactions of reasearch and the outputs you have directed bot to produce:

Its really nifty being able to talk to your IDE and have it self_correct based on you barking at it…

Really need to shine a light on how fn unreal this is. Amongst everything - you can literally talk youre way into a new extension for Cursor that maps to your need. And while we have Zygotic Growing Pains… its only going to get better from here.

Whats nice is that it is doing:

and it produces:

Its really nicely packaged synop[sis of my convo.

nice

OH yeah…~~ I forgot to try this yet…~~

Ill report back.

I had looked at your repo prior - I didnt see this vid though…

Love it. Would like to collab wtih you on some thoughts, if open.

Specifically - I’d really like to work on Agentic Archetypes/Roles and Experts as it pertains to directives to Cursor Agents.

(I have too many Shiny_Object_Projects to list, looking to collaborate)

I have integrated ai to analyze and create .cursorruless but not published on github lol

I had real interesting success in LLMs of Olde whereby I told it to be an expert FBI/NSA profiler and a PHD physchologist profiler specifically on cyber security, AI and Crypto and had it provide a pschy dossier profile of Sam Altman.

I LOVE having AI bots build research Dossiers on various topics so I can grok them quickly.

@catkins - you may like this thread.

@SoMaCoSF That Sam Altman FBI profile? :joy: Absolutely wild!

These days, when I’m trying to understand a project or document, I start by creating a Cursor project and then hit the agent with a series of questions. It’s been a game-changer for efficiency.

I checked out @anon53396871’s CursorFocus project too—so good. I’ve been using Cursor Agent to generate .cursorrules as well, but nothing fancy—just simple stuff like tree structures and module descriptions to keep things clear.

Would love to hear how others are pushing this further!

.cursorrules has no size limit but if there are too many characters then the AI that reads it might skip other parts so I just add what I feel is the essence

Kinda like the note-taking issue in Devin?

Cursor does have a Notepads feature, but the Cursor Agent can’t update itself yet. Also, I couldn’t find any files saved for the Notepad…

Hopefully, that’s something we’ll see soon!

I’m relying on CursorFocus lol

I’ll try it later!

I have not published the AI function on github yet.

By AI function, do you mean tools specifically for Cursor? Does Cursor support calling external functions like that?

Or are you referring to scripts that can be executed via the shell tool in agent mode?

How does it work?

Could you provide some examples or screenshots to illustrate it? That would be super helpful!
