Trouble Connecting to Model

Thanks for reporting a bug you have found in Cursor!

Its getting more frequent that I get the following error for all models:

We’re having trouble connecting to the model provider. This might be temporary - please try again in a moment.

Yes in this case it mentions in the error message that Cursor is having issues connecting to the provider. This might likely be temporary (unfortunately i cant reproduce it locally).

Its unlikely that it would affect all models as they are on different proividers.
Have you tried models from different providers? (not sure what ‘all’ encompasses)

‘All’ is all default setting and automatically selects all loaded models. I have also tried selecting all available models individually with the same response including Sonnet 3.5 and 3.7 and Deepseek v3

And now its back working after 90 minutes :frowning:

‘Default’ loads only premium models, but yes using 3.7 and v3 should have worked

Glad to hear its back.

hi, I am having the same issue today. started about 2 hours go. the issue is with using the agent.

below is the error I am getting. it seems to intermittently come and go in the middle of the agent’s work. sometimes it just returns some garbage result

I think Cursor has had some major downtime the past 2-3 days. I’ve also had the same issue for over 24 hours now, even after the status page’s issue says it’s been resolved.

Ask mode works, but Agent mode always results in that error for all models:

Connection failed. If the problem persists, please check your internet connection or VPN

Yeh, unfortunately the agent is vastly superior and is my primary go-to

Hopefully it gets fixed fast..
