My account is on the new pro plan. I am highly considering ultra. (with usage off ) I thought I could at least do a simple background agent to test. However I get prompted to turn on usage.
With ultra.. can background agents run against your rate limit?
Also it didn’t look like there was an upgrade option. Only cancel current account and re sign up ultra. Is that correct ?
I wonder the same, whether I can run MAX model with Ultra plan, and without Usage Based Pricing
I think its pretty safe to say you can. You can run max now on the new pro plan without usage. You just arrive at rate limit faster.
I have ultra and was $6 off my usage limit when I upgraded. After I upgraded, I turned off usage and it refused to run a background task. I them turned it on and it still refused to run because I had less than $10 remaining. I increased the limit and have started some background tasks.
I’ll report back shortly to see if it has billed my usage for the background tasks.
OK, that was quick. Looks like I wasn’t charged. I had it set to Opus Max too.. This is a screenshot of my usage with 100% background tasks..
Ya thanks.. I tested and was able to run background agents using pro and not being charged. ( I just had to have usage on )
So I pulled the trigger and upgraded. And ya.. it works as expect. All opus 4, all the time with the benefits of cursor.
There is a bug with Ultra it requires you to have at least $10 usage threshold to run background agents which shouldn’t be needed.
