Unable to Launch Cursor or VS Code via WSL

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

For some reason that I don’t understand, I can no longer open Cursor using WSL. Other editors like VS Code Insiders or VS Code also won’t open. From what I can see, it’s not downloading properly.

Steps to Reproduce

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Initially, I opened Cursor and tried to open a project located in WSL, and it showed an error.
  2. Then I tried opening it through the terminal and noticed that it is not downloading.
  3. I also use the WSL extension ms-vscode-remote.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Hey, thanks for the report.

Please try the following:

  • Uninstall the current WSL extension
  • Install the Anysphere WSL extension
  • After installation:
    • Restart Cursor
    • Try connecting to WSL again

Let me know if this resolves the issue.
