Under what conditions does @codebase become unavailable in Cursor Composer?

Hello everyone,

I’m experiencing an issue where @codebase has suddenly become unusable in Cursor Composer. Initially, it only stopped working in one specific workspace, so I suspected it might be a caching problem. However, after updating Cursor itself, @codebase is now only usable in chat across all workspaces—I can’t use it in Composer at all.

I’m on a Pro account and even tried linking my own ChatGPT API key, but that didn’t seem to help. I’d appreciate any guidance on whether this is a Cursor-related bug or if there’s a particular setting I need to enable. If it’s a settings issue, could you point me to which setting controls the use of @codebase?

The @codebase is only available in Chat mode, not in Agent Composer mode.

The rationale, apparently is that Agent mode has full access to your codebase and is intended to scan the codebase as it needs, therefore, the @codebase command in agent mode is considered “redundant”.
