Understanding cursor enterprise autojoin

How Does cursor enterprise auto-join works? Whenever a user signup with an email password from a specific domain name, then it will get approved to the organization?

Does cursor support email invitation only to join?

Thanks.

Hey, good questions. Here’s how it works:

Auto-join domain matching
If this is enabled in the team settings https://cursor.com/dashboard/settings#domain-join, any user who signs up with an email that matches your verified domain can join your team from the dashboard without an invite. You need at least one verified domain set up.

Email-only invites, yes, that’s supported.
If you don’t enable domain matching, users can only join via:

  • Email invites an admin or member clicks Invite Members and enters email addresses
  • Invite links a shareable link, but anyone with the link can join
  • SSO if set up, users auto-join when they sign in via SSO

So if you want full control over who joins, keep domain matching off and use email invites.

One important note. Right now, Restrict invites to approved domains requires Auto-join to be enabled first. If you need domain restrictions without auto-join, that’s also a known request from other users Decouple “Restrict invites to approved domains” from “Auto-join”
