Updates are disabled because you are running the user-scope installation of Cursor as Administrator

Anyone had this before?

Updates are disabled because you are running the user-scope installation of Cursor as Administrator.

First time I see it, all previous installs didn’t have that message. It started appearing after I did attempt update.

Solution:
Download and install cursor by the link:

User Installer

this is a user installer.

I am getting this message when I am trying to install it

Hey, I believe this just means you are running it as an administrator, if you make sure to run it as a user, this should work fine.

I’ll check with the team to see if this is expected!

I run as admin lots because there were times the agent couldn’t do thing I wanted unless so…

Same problem here. Can’t install the admin installer it asks me to download (can’t find it in the download section from cursor when I click on the link it shows me).
If I install the user one, I won’t be able to update.

I just turned on UAC as the defaulting setting(I closed it before), and then It works.
