Nice! Works great. Installed it preemptively, and it gives more detailed cost data than normal.
They now removed the cost for type `Included` in the CSV.
WHY??
It’s baffling. We need more transparency around usage, costs, and token not less. It makes it incredibly difficult to evaluate cursor and improve workflows when we can’t see these sorts of things.
Have you tried this extension? I wonder if its not included at all in the page response.
I think the goal may be to make pricing harder to track per request on purpose. This is just an assumption, not sure how else one could interpret these changes. If the price is not clear per request, its easier for the cost of requests to increase over time and people won’t really notice. Also by there not being a cost per request shown, people may not focus on the micro costs, and just use up their usage much faster and see that upgrading their plan is the only solution. If that was the case, then yea, this may be intentional.
Not so surprisingly, a couple of weeks down the road and I’m personally not as concerned about knowing the exact costs and I imagine that will be the case for most.
I use both Claude Code and Cursor on the $20 models and try and make best use of the rolling token windows and some on-demand, which I’ll keep doing until it makes sense to pay for the next model up on Claude Code, at which point I might drop Cursor. Anthropic is percentage-based as well, but you can track your token usage in more detail when you use Claude Code. Tying that back to the percentages is more hassle than it’s worth though, imho.
It would be cool if this extension could be updated to auto refresh the dashboard page every few seconds, and when a new request appeared it pushed a browser notification with the model, token usage, and cost. This would essentially allow you to see the cost of requests while working without checking the dashboard every time.
