It used to be that you could scroll up for (all time?) when looking back through chats. Now it seems very aggressively to collapse it behind a load older messages prompt.
Then when you click that, it changes your scroll position to the TOP of the older chunk instead of to the bottom, so you scroll up, click show older, then scroll downwards to read forward, then back up. It should maintain your position so as you’re reading back from bottom to top, you dont scroll up, then down, then back up again, then down. Instead you just keep going up logically in time.
second… can we just ditch this thing anyway, infinite scroll has been a thing for at least two decades now, we have gigabytes of memory, some extra text truly isn’t going to make any difference but the UX is pretty miserable.
