Was the typing indicator/animated dots removed or is this a bug?

I’m not sure why this happened suddenly, but it seems the typing indicator/animated dots are removed from the chat interface (agent mode) out of nowhere.

I’m using:
Version: 0.48.9 (user setup)
VSCode Version: 1.96.2
Commit: 61e99179e4080fecf9d8b92c6e2e3e00fbfb53f0
Date: 2025-04-12T18:45:22.042Z
Electron: 34.3.4
Chromium: 132.0.6834.210
Node.js: 20.18.3
V8: 13.2.152.41-electron.0
OS: Windows_NT x64 10.0.26100

I’ve been too scared to update (i can admit it)…

Any one have any info about this?

Hey, which version did you upgrade from? Do you mean the dots during generation? Now it looks clearer, at the top under your request and at the bottom of the window. Isn’t that enough for you?

from 0.48.7.

While the dots during generation are restored now, Cursor is still relatively in a state of permanent crashing, agent will forget to make changes (see screenshot), and Sam forwards my crashing issue to a “teammate” and days later I still don’t have a response (see screenshot).

I think AI IDEs will democratize coding for so many people (I am one of them), but in the few months I’ve used Cursor - it keeps going downhill…It’s impossible to actually get help when something actually does break.

See the screenshot. This is your product, since no one cares in customer service and “Sam” doesn’t bother actually connecting frustrated users to “team members”. This is the newest version of Cursor - what you guys have built. Not only does it crash - it deletes files and then just says oops.
