Weird terminal behaviour for "shutdown" command

I may be weird but I always use the terminal to shutdown my Ubuntu device because the GUI method takes 3 clicks. I just type in shutdown now or bye which is the alias for it. After finishing work I tried to shutdown using the cursor in-built terminal and started seeing information about all the devices connected to my computer. Stuff like hardrive partitions, the ethernet controller, external disk drive, usb drives, etc.

How do I make shutdown work on my cursor terminal?
