Yes, me too. Yesterday, I was able to paste images into the chat, and make UI modifications that way. Today it’s spitting back this response and refusing to work.

Hey. I think this might have happened due to switching models.

A likely scenario is that you started a conversation with, for example, the DeepSeek model and then switched to Claude.

Probably, starting a new chat with the Claude model should not cause such an error.

Same. No, not due to switching models during a chat. This is a new chat. Only just started happening.

There’s a definite regression here. I exclusively work with Claude 3.7 in nearly all chats, and this has started happening with increasing frequency over the last couple of hours. I feel there’s a rolling deployment of something somewhere that needs to be stopped.

same here, I. can’t use it anymore

Thank you, as we’ve already received enough reports, we will try to resolve this.

I basically never switch models. I either use Claude 3.7 or Claude 3.7 with thinking. I’ve never tried DeepSeek at all because Claude does what I want. And yes, as someone mentioned this happens with new chats.

However, I’ll also point out that when I start a new chat and paste an image in (or hit the add image button), it usually seems to lose the image. When I mouse over the context icon for that image, it comes up as a broken image placeholder, and if I try to run the query it complains that the image I mention was not attached. If I remove it and re-add it, it finds the image, but then gives the “trying to submit images without a vision” error.

Hello? We should be able to use images with a “vision model” @deanrie

When can it be repaired approximately? It’s been a long time. Now sonnet3.7 cannot use pictures. Should compensation be given?

I was troubled by this problem the entire afternoon, and it cost me a lot of money.

Same issue for me last hour today. I was able to use 3.7 today but i’m getting this error now. I’m curious if there is unexpected error on cursor side that use exception message which is not relative..

Hey guys, unable to reproduce this ourselves so far!

Can anyone confirm if they have this with thinking enabled or disabled?

Also, if you can provide any request IDs where this happens, that would be very helpful for helping debug.

Has not happend since friday for me, worked yesterday.

For me, it happens every single time with Claude 3.7. I’m not able to use images at all.

Both. First ran into it with thinking enabled, but it also happens with thinking disabled.

Edit to add:

I just tested this with the query I was trying to make last week and suddenly it works. I haven’t installed any updates or anything since then, so the problem is apparently intermittent, and I suppose might be an issue the Claude API and not Cursor itself. Considering that someone else reported a failure just 6 hours ago, it still seems to be a problem.

Edit to add again:

I had it set to “auto”, and when I switched that off I saw that it was using Claude 3.5 instead of 3.7 so it might be something specific to 3.7.

More edit:

I had the opportunity to try an image while set to Claude 3.7 with thinking, and it worked this time.
