Why isn't the @Codebase tagging with at (@) working?

I’m trying to do @Codebase but it doesn’t seem to work. I’ve

  1. (obviously) checked if the my codebase has been indexed and it has.
  2. I’ve seen related issues but they’ve either not been resolved or it’s not clear if they are related, Codebase Indxing - #3 by Eunomiac, Codebase indexing issue? - #3 by Alvaro777
  3. updated cursor

Concretely (numbering for ease of answering):

  1. When and why doesn’t the @Codebase functionality working
  2. How do I fix 1 ie how do I make Cursor’s @Codebase feature work?

Any ideas of how to fix this?

Because Cursor removed the feature claiming that we should just TRUST the model to just know when to grep the codebase “when it needs to” … it will “just work”…

Considering Cursor barely follows it’s own basic cursor rules, I have extremely low confidence in this.

lol this is pretty bad.

Hey, to make the codebase function work, you can ask it to do so in natural language, for example, “search the codebase”, and it should execute this regardless of what mode you are in.
