if DeepSeek isn’t embedded within the agent/composer, then it’s not really that “fire”
Thank you. It works. Now im in 0.45.3
I haven’t got 0.45 yet, how long have to wait for this update.
Yeah, this roll out is hella weird. How are they selecting who gets it? I’m on the pro plan and I’ve uninstalled everything(including usr/local/bin/cursor) like people have said and the download from the website is still giving me .44. No pop ups saying to upgrade on .45 either. I want to sit at the cool kid table too yo!
ahh, didn’t know you could do this: (just got an email back from the team)
You can update to v45 by pressing Cmd+Shift+P (on Mac) or Ctrl+Shift+P (on Windows) and typing “Cursor: Attempt Update” in the command palette.
is there any way to see a log if ‘Attempt Update’ actually works? because there is no feedback, this should be a bug
Looks like it actually didn’t for me. I’m still not on the list, but I had some stuff show up related to using that command when i went to the ouput log and changed the view to window. Sam from cursor said yeah i’m still part of the rollout but should be there in a couple days.
What are the changelogs of 0.45.4?
Not for me. I was kicking a$$ and taking names one-shotting whole entire features with styling, but then it auto-updated to Version: 0.45.4 and now it can’t even complete basic styling issues.
It’s practically un-usable now. And I just wasted 3 hours of my life and progress bc of this update.

Yeah, I can confirm this update is pretty useless. Sonnet really messes up a lot. ALOT compared to the previous version.
@RvDstudio Should be available to all users in the next day or so!
@minemindmedia We don’t believe there has been any substantial changes that should affect Claude’s output. Do you have an example where Claude is performing poorly with a clear prompt?
For me, its over complicating things. I had a simple route issue I wanted help solving and it decides to rewrite and restructure a bunch of irrelevant files.
For me too. Cursor (Claude) is acting very strange in the output. Even fresh composer chat is “Generating…” forever and when it works, only 1 response is given and the following ones gets stuck. Something has happened, because 3 days ago (the last day I used Cursor) it was working perfect. I was using my free 50 premium requests and decided to upgrade to PRO and now I have lost 12 premium requests just trying to generate useful response or trying to use it. Lost 3-4 hours with this. Yeah, for sure, Cursor is very, very strange.
Do you guys have any good resource for setting up project files?
Their changelog is extremely vague.
.cursor/rules
: Users can write several repository-level rules to disk in the.cursor/rules
directory. The Agent will automatically choose which rule to follow.
Yeah I have no idea what “agent will automatically choose which rule to follow” means. It would be nice to know how that decision is made lol
It’s hidden in the settings:
e.g., .cursor/rules/typescript.mdc
---
description: TypeScript rules and standards
globs: ["frontend/**/*.ts", "frontend/**/*.tsx"]
---
# Project TypeScript Rules
If it gets confused, you may find the raw rule.mdc
file has 2 front matter and it will only use the 1st one - I had problems with this when I created some files at first.
The front-matter is not shown if Cursor intercepts the .mdc
extension and shows you a pretty header.
