When in “Ask” mode, the sidebar chat automatically switches to “Agent” mode whenever code is added to context
I prefer to use Cursor in “Ask” mode, because the Agent is far too eager in my experience as far as making drastic changes and deletions to my code.
Upon updating to 0.46, whenever I add code to chat context with the “Add to Chat” button and unwittingly enter my prompt, I’ve been annoyed to find the Chat had automatically switched to “Agent” mode, and said agent is now trying to run some completely unnecessary command in my terminal.
tl;dr
- When in “Ask” mode, adding code context switches Chat to “Agent”
- This is undesirable. I want Chat to remain in the mode I’ve set it.
- This doesn’t happen when in “Edit” mode.
