yes, this is extremely inconvenient, please restore the vertical view
i want use it
why removed workbench.activityBar.orientation ? I don’t think this will affect the AI functionality,I don’t understand
I was literally searching for feedback in the forum about that. I don’t understand why this limitation was even needed? Pointless inconvenience.
Yes, this setting must come back. The default setting is a ridiculous fantasy. Please give normal users an option to fix this joke.
Yes, this update is unreasonable
Why was this setting removed?
Please restore it, I really need this setting.
Exactly, this is plain nonsense. I’ll go back to vscode for the time being untill this setting is restored. This alone makes the whole editor unusable to me.
please restore it!
Not adding a Sync feature, because they say they’re “focussing purely on AI features”, but removing the workbench.activityBar.orientation
setting? Make it make sense…
This is really a bad change. I will stay in 0.47 until vertical sidebar returns.
I understand wanting to promote your own design language and reduce complexity of testing every different design style.
But please if you do something like that make sure your own activity bar works as expected. Currently we have no options to have the number of changed files in Git visible as a badge.
It is honestly just ridiculous at this point. The Cursor team should rather focus on fixing the countless bugs instead of continuing to release more and more updates that make users even more dissatisfied.
This is reallya bad change!!!
I can not understand reason of removing vertical sidebar. Please give us back. If i have more than 6 extension and shortcut i cannot see all of them. each time i have to expand and choose. this is not user friendly.
When using the horizontal sidebar, Source Control does not display badges. I need to manually switch to Source Control to see the changed files, which is too awful.
It is a terrible idea to downgrade customization options that does not cost you anything! Please don’t force us to search for an alternatives.
That’s just unacceptable. You had one of the best tools for developers, and now you’re actively making it worse. Removing basic customization is a huge step back.
You’re on top for now, but moves like this won’t keep you there.
Great, they just removed the feature mistakenly added in '24. A very ingenious idea
