1.3.5 break ask mode

Describe the Bug

I’m using ask mode with a customized api key, when updating to 1.3.5 this morning, the ask mode no longer works, showing “Agent and Edit rely on custom models that cannot be billed to an API key. Please use a Pro or Business subscription and/or disable API keys. Ask should still work.”

Steps to Reproduce

Just set an api key in settings panel, and ask the model in the sidebar. It seems that there is a mismatch between what is displayed and actually the “ask” is “edit” or something else.

Operating System

Windows 10/11

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the report. Could you let me know if you have an active Pro subscription?

no, I’m using free subscription. Since I only uses ask mode, this shouldn’t affect.

I get the same error using Windows 11, but weirdly edit works?

@deanrie Any solutions or fixes ahead?

Hey, yes, the team is looking into it.
