What about the extension to you find horrendous? I installed it and added it to the right sidebar following the instructions at Codex IDE extension and it’s been working quite well for me for the past couple of days.

The extension is alright, CLI is more up to date and gets the visuals right now, too.

What about the extension to you find horrendous?

It fails hard when you use multi-root workspaces, the Codex extension is only able to see the first directory in the workspace, and even then it still doesn’t seem to see most of the files in the directory.

Skill issue, just point at /any /directory or @any.file (cannot ref @dir/ unfortunately).

Codex is much needed! It’s such a pain to work with Claude code, or even gpt-5-fast-high (high is still worse) compared to the GOAT. I ran into rate limit, and consider first time to throw $200 at it..

:smiling_face_with_tear:

gpt-5-codex is now available in Cursor.
