Hey, thanks for the report. Try refreshing the model list by clicking the refresh button to the right of the model search. You can also try adding this model manually.

@deanrie Does this model come included with the Cursor subscription, or do you need a separate ChatGPT subscription?

Is now support for gpt-5-codex,and solve this problem?

Hi Cursor team,

I’m an Ultra user, currently on version 1.6.24, but I still cannot select the GPT-5 Codex model.

Could you please help clarify a few things:

  1. Is Codex model access already included for Ultra users, or do I need to enable something extra?

  2. If it should be available, are there any settings or steps I might have missed to activate Codex support?

  3. Is this a known bug, and if so, is there a hotfix or upcoming patch planned to resolve it?

  4. Could you also share the current rollout status for GPT-5 Codex in Cursor (e.g., fully released, staged rollout, or region-limited)?

Thanks a lot for your support! Really looking forward to using the GPT-5 Codex capabilities inside Cursor.

It looks like it was just a preparation for a codex release via API and they accidentally leaked it in the changelog. There are no any signs of the Codex support on the changelog page at the moment:

Old page:

New page:

That’s also why support engineers remain silent

Yes it is a preparation, please be patient. Once it becomes publicly available and usable in Cursor we will sure announce it.

All models are always available to all users with a subscription regardless of the plan level.

There wont be anything necessary to set, and it’s not a bug.

Support for … means we added code so the model will be usable once it is available.

Apologies for the late reply, it takes time to get around to all thread

And I have tried to add it manually, and I did restart the cursor, but nothing works

how much will codex cost once it’s implemented? I don’t see it listed on https://openai.com/api/pricing/
