sonnet 4 just got a huge update, can we please get 1M context with MAX mode now??
Seems like Claude Sonnet 4 now supports 1 million tokens of context on the Anthropic API. Is this going to be reflected in Cursor?
Just throwing this out there. Cursor kind of needs a maintenance cycle soon here. Some major issues on PC (Win+WSL2, terminals, etc.) and there seems to be an issue with conversation length in auto for many people. New features are great, but…a stable product is great, too. I have other side projects I primarily use PC for, and they have come to a halt due to quirky issues with integrating Cursor into a Win+WSL2 environment, especially around terminals in teh agent.
1M context yes pleeeassse @condor any chance this being discussed internally? 
The team is having a look at the new Sonnet 4 model with 1M context and may need some time for testing and adjustments.

I realize Cursor is all in on GPT-5, but I hope that doesnt degrade the support for Anthropic. Claude Sonnet continues to outperform in many ways GPT5 for me, and being able to pick the best in breed across the tasks is important. (Frankly I cant get anything done with JUST GPT5, it gets me a lot of the way there, but Claude does a much better job of understanding what Im trying to do, and pragmatic approaches, and can coach GPT5 on how to get it right 
)

Hi, may I know why Ultra user still cannot use 1M Context? Can you please kindly consider it?
Are you guys planning to deploy a version of Claude with 1M context window ?
@charles we do not plan to drop support for Anthropic models.
@Magusta @Axel_Girard once the model has been tested by our engineers and any necessary adjustments made to confirm it performs well, we will add the model for all users.

What does that have to do with Ultra?
Everyone is paying the same now anyway, right?
guys please its been 5 days, let us ultra users test-drive the model as you continue to optimize it. you can release it as a new model like claude-4-sonnet-1m and still keep the old one?
i thought ultra included early access to new features?
There will probably need to be pricing changes as Anthropic is charging more for bigger context windows. There is different price depending on if the context windows is <200k tokens vs >200k tokens. Anysphere probably needs now implement a system for calculating that and publish new pricing for it, not goona be soon

They should want to release it even more than you do, because for them it’s basically pure profit with such a model.
They just need to make sure it actually works well with Cursor which I honestly have no idea what that really means.
But Anthropic is a company that’s really difficult to work with.

yeah exactly, max mode is token pricing + markup anyway. i have no idea why its not out yet, they’re usually really quick with these things

But I’ve never seen any feature that Ultra has which a regular user doesn’t.
Maybe I just discover the bugs faster?

hi @amxv we have not yet released 1M context for Sonnet 4 but we will announce it as we are still checking the performance.

This is so on point, Sonnet 4 is like Batman…battle-tested and can therefore be truly creative whereas GPT5 is like Robin, dependable but plays a bit still feels like it’s operating in comfort zone constantly
I can see the claude-4-sonnet-1mmax only model in cursor. Its out
