A small suggestion about the Ctrl-E keybinding

As a user with a background in Emacs and macOS (and now a happy Cursor user with vim mode), I’ve built up a lot of muscle memory around common keybindings. I noticed the recent update changed the Ctrl-E shortcut in the Copilot panel to open a new tab, which conflicts with the standard “end-of-line” behavior I rely on.

I’m planning to look into the settings later to see if I can override this myself. However, I wanted to provide this feedback because Ctrl-E is a standard, muscle-memory keybinding for the Emacs and macOS communities. For context, VS Code and Cursor handle this natively without needing custom configuration.

Defaulting to a new behavior might create a bit of friction for those users as well. I was wondering if the team might consider aligning with the default OS/editor behavior in a future update?

Love the product otherwise, and thanks for all you do!

It’s quite annoying! And after opening the background agent tab, the UI is not responding!

Hey, yes, you can override this in the keybindings settings.

Thanks so much, this is really helpful!
