Account, billing & login

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

User-configured spend limits and preference states fail to persist across billing cycle rollovers. Instead of retaining saved user preferences, the system silently reverts or resets these configurations, allowing resource consumption to bypass custom limits.

Steps to Reproduce

Configure custom monthly spend limits or on-demand preferences in the dashboard and save them.

Allow the account to reach a billing cycle renewal/transition point.

Check the dashboard settings and observe that the previously saved configurations have automatically reset or failed to apply.

Expected Behavior

User-saved spend limit configurations and preference states should reliably persist across billing cycles and strictly maintain their defined limits without unexpected resets.

Operating System

Windows 10/11

Additional Information

This state-persistence bug causes settings to revert upon cycle transitions, leading to unintended behavior in account management.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey @Duy_Tan_Phung, this isn’t a billing-cycle reset. On-demand and your monthly limit only change when the setting is toggled on the account, so what you’re seeing usually means another device or session is signed in.

Secure the account first: reset your Google password, turn on 2-step verification, then open cursor.com/dashboard > Settings and revoke any sessions you don’t recognize. Keep on-demand off or on a fixed limit.
