Describe the Bug

I use Cursor ACP through goland. I am on a legacy corporate plan where I have a set number of requests.

Since the pricing change where a set number of models are forced into max mode, ALL models are forced into max mode when I use ACP through goland. The only time it goes back to non-max mode is if I use auto. If I change to the cursor IDE and use the same models, it is non-max mode like expected.

Steps to Reproduce

Use ACP cursor agent in goland.

Make a request with any model other than auto.

It will use max mode even though that is not enabled.

Expected Behavior

For the behavior to be the same as the cursor IDE where only frontier models are max mode.

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Thanks for reaching out to us about this. What non-frontier models are you seeing as Max-mode only when using ACP (that isn’t requiring Max Mode in the IDE)?

GPT 5.2, composer 1.5, gemini 3.1 pro, codex 5.2 etc.
