Action suggestions are very disruptive in recent versions

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

This somewhat new menu that pops up when the agent suggests a command or action to run has been really annoying to work with because it hijacks focus no matter what you’re in the middle of doing, and you can’t even type a message without dealing with it.

Is there a way to switch to the old one where it just shows a run button and doesn’t hijack focus?

If not, please consider fixing this, it makes multitasking while the agent is running impossible, which used to work fine.

Thank you.

Steps to Reproduce

Ask agent to do something that will result in it suggesting a command to run

Expected Behavior

It would be great if there’s a setting to turn this off, otherwise it’s not workable

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, you can set this in the Cursor settings by also adding the necessary commands to the allowed list. Open the Cursor settings with Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + J, go to the Chat tab, and there you can set the necessary settings.

Appreciate the reply, but in this case, I don’t want it to run without my approval, I just don’t want it to take over focus. I tend to ask the agent to do things while I work on other files.

If it’s not possible, I hope this at least contributes to feedback for next update.

Select the “Run everything” option.
