Feature request for product/service
Cursor IDE
Describe the request
Hi Cursor team ![]()
I’ve noticed that when Cursor starts automatically generating files (for example, .md files like IMPLEMENTATION_SUMMARY_v1.0.3.md), there’s no option to stop or skip the operation.
In some cases, I don’t actually want these files to be generated, but Cursor proceeds anyway, and I end up having to wait until the generation finishes. This not only wastes time and tokens, but also interrupts the workflow.
It would be super helpful to have a “Skip” or “Cancel Generation” button during file creation, so users can stop the operation instantly when they realize the output isn’t needed.
This small addition would make a big difference in improving token efficiency and workflow control, especially for power users managing multiple files or iterative builds.
Thanks for considering this improvement, it would be a great quality-of-life upgrade!
