After updating the cursor 2.0, there is a loss of model

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

After my cursor update to 2.0, I often can’t find the GPT-5 model and Gemini model. They don’t appear in my model list, but they will come out after a while.

Steps to Reproduce

One slow motion to are you watching Zejiang Gemini. I think this is a stage problem. Sometimes it will show the complete model, including all the complete models, up to 20-30 models. But sometimes there are models that only show 7-8 models. Some of them include GPT-5 and Gemini models. But I need to use them. I often can’t find them. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s not. Sometimes there are only a few models. I don’t know what it is. When I need it, I can’t find it.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Hey, thanks for the report. The intermittent behavior points to either a corrupted cache or a network connectivity issue.

Please try these steps:

  • Run network diagnostics: Cursor Settings → Network → Run Diagnostics, then share the results
  • Check console errors: when models are missing, open DevTools (Help → Toggle Developer Tools), go to the Console tab, and share any red errors

Try disabling HTTP/2 (often helps with intermittent connection issues):

  • Open Cursor Settings Ctrl + ,
  • Search for “HTTP/2”
  • Enable “Disable HTTP/2”
  • Restart Cursor

If that doesn’t help, clear user data (a similar issue was solved this way):

  • Fully remove: %APPDATA%\Cursor\User
  • Export your profile first if needed
  • Reinstall Cursor

You can also manually add any missing models as a fallback.

Let me know what the diagnostics show and whether these steps help.
