After updating to 0.46 Cursor is Not Uploading Images Properly (Broken Image Display)

When uploading images using Cursor with the Claude-3.5-Sonnet model (or any other model), the uploaded image appears broken. Instead of rendering the image correctly, a placeholder or broken image icon is displayed. Hovering over the broken image shows the message “image not found.”

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open Cursor and select Claude-3.5-Sonnet (or any other available model).
  2. Attempt to upload an image file (e.g., .png, .jpg, .jpeg).
  3. Observe the uploaded image in the chat interface.
  4. Hover over the broken image — it displays “image not found.”

Operating System:
MacOS Sequoia 15.2 + Cursor 0.46

I can confirm, until this is fixed, drag and drop still works.

Hey, can you try clearing the cache? Also, create a new agent session.

Thank you for this temporary fix. It never crossed my mind to drag and drop I assumed it was all broken. The drag and drop method is working for me as well.

I tried most of these methods without any luck. Thanks for helping.

Yes, this is a clear bug. I’ve already reported it to our developers. As a temporary solution, copy-pasting should work.
