Describe the Bug
THe agent said that it was stuck in Plan mode and wasn’t able to execute changes.
After refreshing the app and exiting out, the issue still persisted
Steps to Reproduce
Not sure what happened
Agent was in plan mode for GPT 5.4 (med) and when I prompted to execute the task it said it was stuck in plan mode

Hey, this is a known issue. The agent can sometimes get stuck in Plan mode and can’t switch to execution. The team is aware.
For now, here’s a working workaround:
- Copy the plan content from the chat
- Open a new chat with
Cmd+N
- Paste the plan directly without enabling Plan mode, then the agent should start executing the tasks
A couple other things that might help:
- Try switching to a different model, for example Claude 4.6 Sonnet instead of GPT 5.4. The bug can show up differently across models
- If it gets stuck again, send the Request ID right upper corner of the chat > Copy Request ID. This will help us track the issue more precisely
